Welcome To Collector's Corner
Collector's Corner is a new feature on the Manuscript Society's website. Our first offering is a list of known facsimiles—items which look like real autographs and manuscripts, but which are in fact realistic (and sometimes not so realistic) copies. Above is one of the most famous, a letter from England's George V welcoming American troops during World War I in April 1918. Courtesy of Catherine Barnes.
In the coming months as time permits, we will be adding other features including a listing of more than 600 forgeries identified by Charles Hamilton—one of 20th Century's most prolific and respected authors in the field of autographs and manuscripts. Stay tuned.
